On Saturday, September 29th, Pack 240 had a day trip to the Tennessee
Valley Train Museum in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
The day started with a
train ride down a three mile stretch of track that took us though a
historic section of Chattanooga including going through a Civil War
era tunnel. We unloaded at a depot and watched as they turned
the train engine around on a rail road turnabout for our return trip.
We took the opportunity to see the restoration of several historic trains in the train yard
before re-boarding the train for the return trip. Back at the museum we toured the
exhibits and were able to go in many of the trains, train cars, and a caboose that were on
display in the train yard.
