Teens Reaching Extra-ordinary Challenges

General Information

 

· No cars will be allowed past the inner gate at T.R.E.C. camping events

· There will be a dumpster available. We plan  Low Impact camping events.  Plan accordingly.

· RI recycles paper, glass, cans and #1 and #2 plastic.  Plan to carry out your recycling.

· A well-packed pack is called a “bag full of bags”.  This means pack your gear in plastic bags and then put the bags inside your pack which has been lined with a large garbage bag.

· If you put your tightly rolled sleeping bag into two heavy duty plastic trash bags and then tuck in the ends, you will have a “waterproofed” sleeping bag to attach to your pack.  Put the bag openings in opposite directions.

· Nothing should hang loosely from your pack.

· No liquid fuel is allowed at Camp Hoffman.

· No open flames allowed in or near tents.

· Fires are allowed in established fire areas and only in the units.

· The wood pile should be located at least 15 ft. away from any fire area and it should not block a traffic area.

· ALWAYS USE THE BUDDY SYSTEM.

· You must have an adult camping in the unit with your girls at this event.

· You must have an adult sleeping in the unit with your girls at this event.

· NO HAY ALLOWED.

· No tents are provided at the Fall T.R.E.C. event, please bring adequate tents to pitch.

· Kitchen Units, cooking areas and Picnic tables are provided at camp. However, Plan on bringing tarps for kitchen and eating cover unless notified otherwise.

· GSRI has flushies and running water available at campsites April thru October, including the Fall T.R.E.C event. GSRI provides ecologically approved toilet paper, dish soap, and disinfectant.
