Part of the Boy Scout program is rank
advancement. You can work your way from
Tenderfoot all the way to EAGLE! Here are some
amazing facts about the Eagle rank:
- Only about 2% of all boys who join Scouting attain the rank of Eagle
- 9 of 11 men who walked on the moon are Eagle Scouts!
- Close to 50% of all boys listed in "Who's Who in American High Schools" are Eagle Scouts
- Professional recruiters put more value on an Eagle Scout candidate than on any sport or intramural activity
Parents -- there is no better way to teach
leadership, build character, and foster
responsibility than Boy Scouts of America.
Who can join? Any boy who is 11 years old or who has finished fifth grade is eligible to join. No experience necessary! (Some of our more demanding trips may be limited, but most campouts are open to all Scouts.)
