Akela District Scouting Exposition - Now held in conjunction with Jamestown Days, the Expo is an opportunity for all High Point, Jamestown, Lexington, and Thomasville Troops and Packs to show off Boy Scouting to the public. Troop 8 will build their signal tower for everyone to climb. Scout displays will be on the lawn of Jamestown Elementary School, located next to Jamestown Library on Main Street. Official times for Jamestown Days are 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. |

Reunion - This is a time for everyone to visit with other members
and former members of the Troop. Scouts will have outside games and
activities. Scouts and guests will also be working on a special 30th
anniversary Totem Pole. Inside the Family Life Center will be
lots of displays of memorabilia, pictures, slide shows, and other items for
everyone to look at. Guests, particularly former Troop members, are asked to bring their memorabilia and pictures to share. |

Cookout - Troop 8 Scouts will have a campfire going by late
afternoon and will be cooking hamburgers and hotdogs. Fixings will be
available for these, as well as drinks and homemade desserts. Food
will be served in the lobby of the Family Life Center, with tables and
chairs available. Donations will be accepted to offset the costs to the Troop. |

Campfire - The Troop will start a campfire to hold our spring Court
of Honor to award merit badges and rank advancements that have been
earned. Each Troop 8 patrol will present a skit for everyone's
entertainment. All former Scoutmasters and Eagle Scouts will be
recognized at this time.
The Campfire will be outside. Everyone is welcome to bring a chair and/or blanket to sit on during the Court of Honor presentations. |
